Frequently asked questions
What do I need to start renting?+
Just bring your passport and a debit or credit card to our Redfern shop. A refundable bond secures your rental and you can ride away the same day.
What's included with my rental?+
Every rental comes with a helmet, bike lock, battery lock, charger, phone charger, delivery bag and free maintenance — everything you need to start earning.
How does the battery swap station work?+
Drop your empty battery at our swap station and grab a fully-charged one in under a minute. Swapping is a paid add-on for Tech E-Bike renters: $40 per week for unlimited swaps, or $10 for a single swap — so you never lose delivery hours waiting to charge.
How much is the bond?+
The bond depends on your plan (from $200) and is fully refundable at the end of your rental, minus any charges for damage or unpaid fees.
What happens if something breaks?+
Free maintenance is included — just drop by the shop. With our Gold plan, any broken part is repaired free, with parts and labour covered.
What if the bike is stolen or I have an accident?+
Message us on WhatsApp within 12 hours, and for theft you'll need to file a police report. If the bike isn't covered, replacement costs apply — $800 if only the battery or the frame is taken, or $1,500 if both are lost. With our optional Platinum plan, theft is covered and you'd only pay a small excess instead of the full replacement cost.
Can I take the e-bike on the train?+
Yes — bikes are welcome on Sydney trains, so you can combine train and e-bike for longer trips across the city. Our shop is a short walk from Redfern station too.
